Composite Doors in London & Home Counties

Consider composite doors as a secure, durable, and weatherproof option for your next big residential or commercial project. We know that GRP can offer improved energy ratings against wind, keeping out the cold and mould.

Composite doors are our most recommended option for both security and design due to their increased thickness and wood grain styles. We offer doors that have been tested for wind resistance, water tightness, and air permeability. Not to mention the versatility of designs. You can now choose a different RAL colour for the inside of your door as well.

Features & Benefits

Incredible Styles

Choose cottage, traditional, contemporary, or modern styles. Window Projects offers you a range of composite doors for your next commercial or residential project.

Durability

Our composite door options include solid timber cores, which offers all the heft without the warp of traditional timber doors. With GRP skins, they’re watertight.

Security

You can ensure that composite doors can withstand intrusion with multi point locking systems. We offer Ultion locks and PAS 24 or Secured by Design products.

Premium Suppliers

We offer premium materials and robust designs by Solidor, Door-Stop, and Virtuoso. Our established ties mean lower lead times for your next project.

10 year Guarantee

Window Projects assures you of our ten year guarantee in the unlikely event of a manufacturing error. But composite doors are built to last.

Low Maintenance

Most wooden doors require maintenance every five years like staining, or painting. With GRP composite doors the only upkeep is a simple wipe down.

Contact Us

You have many options for composite doors, from PVCu, GRP, and timber. Window Projects can give you a quote for your residential, commercial or public needs. Give us a call, whether your project is local to us in London, the home counties, or further afield.

Bespoke Products

At Window Projects, we offer you a variety of options from our premium suppliers: Virtuoso, Solidor, and Doorstop. From these three suppliers, you can find whichever style suits your build, from contemporary to traditional. You’ll also be able to find the materials you like best: from foam filled composite doors to solid wood core.

Solid wood core doors offer the heft of wood, with the advantage of a GRP skin to protect it from wind and water. On the other hand, foam filled composite doors are an excellent design for commercial projects that need lighter doors for accessibility, especially in hospitals.

Accessories & Add Ons

For large scale residential projects, you may be looking for varying iterations of classic themes for composite doors. Depending on the existing design, there are any number of styled door knockers, hinges, handles, and letter plates. And you can design how big or small the lites of your composite door are. Choose from our PAS 24 or Secured by Design products for additional security to your new build.

Lastly, make sure that your composite doors are accessible with wider thresholds for wheelchair users or those with low mobility. Standardising low thresholds is important for commercial and residential builds, as the government raises accessibility standards in the coming years.

FAQ's

Our composite doors include either foam filled or solid wood cores. Depending on which supplier you use, you can get a solid wood core as thick as 48mm. For our foam filled doors, you can ask us to make sure that you’re choosing CFC-free products, as well as products that were made in Britain. We are committed to offering you environmentally friendly options by reducing fuel in supply routes and ensuring that your doors don’t include lead products.

Window Projects’ 10 year guarantee covers manufacturing errors of composite doors and certain intrusion guarantees where the supplier allows. For example, Solidor uses Ultion locks for its composite doors, which offers £2000 in the unlikely event of a break-in by snapping. Our other PAS 24 or Secured by Design products have different guarantees, and when you call us, we can talk more about them.

Lowered thresholds are the way of the future, as the government decides to raise its standards for mobility on new builds. Wheelchair users aren’t the only ones who need lowered thresholds. The government standards assert that 70% of disabled people have locomotion difficulties and outnumber wheelchair users 10:1.

The government suggests any rise in the threshold above 5mm should have a bevelled edge for accessibility standards. We can help you by offering lowered thresholds for your composite doors
